NP Trading Corporate Codes of Conduct

Fulfillment of Corporate Social Responsibilities

  1. We shall contribute to society through our trading activities to provide paper products, paper related products and services. We shall also contribute to society as a “good corporate citizen.”
  2. When pursuing business activities overseas, we shall work to promote local development, with respect for local culture, customs and business practices.
  3. We shall stand firm against antisocial forces and groups.

Fair, Transparent, and Liberal Corporate Activities

  1. We shall implement fair commercial transactions. We shall not engage in such conduct as participating in cartels, collusions, or inappropriate displays that go against the Antimonopoly Act and related laws and regulations, and the spirit of all relevant laws.
  2. We shall not engage in any bribery to public officials, illegal political donations, or provision of illegal benefits. Nor shall we engage in any acts that might be misinterpreted as being part of a "cozy relationship" or collusion with politics and administration.
  3. We shall not offer entertainment or gifts if such an offer would be considered inappropriate in the light of social common sense and general good business practice.

Earning Customer Trust

  1. We shall stably supply products and services that are socially beneficial, of high quality, safe, and environmentally friendly.
  2. We shall provide product information about our products, and quality labeling that is accurate and fair so that customers can make a rational choice.
  3. We shall pay attention to comments from customers by using all opportunities to do so with the aim of maximizing customer satisfaction.

Strict Handling of Corporate Information

  1. We shall handle important information on corporate management, intellectual property rights, customers, and individuals in an appropriate and strict manner.
  2. We shall strictly refrain from acquiring customer information or competitor information through unauthorized means or utilizing any such information we inadvertently received.
  3. We respect the intellectual property rights of others.

Fair and Positive Disclosure of Corporate Information

In addition to the disclosure of management information, we shall disclose fair and reliable information regarding our environmental initiatives and social contributory activities to our stakeholders including customers, consumers, shareholders, suppliers, local community, public administration, and employees in a positive manner.

Global Environmental Initiatives

  1. We shall continue to promote the active procurement of paper materials made of wood that is sourced from forest lumber properly managed for the sustainable use of forest resources.
  2. We shall improve energy conservation and promote effective utilization of used paper and other finite resources.
  3. We shall manage and reduce wastes discharged from business activities.
  4. We shall promote trading activities to provide products and services in harmony with the environment.

Desirable Mindset of Employees

  1. Employees shall work with aspiration and a spirit of challenge to maintain an appropriate life balance between corporate development and personal contentment of individual employees.
  2. Employees shall be accountable for their actions in full compliance with laws, regulations, and social codes.
  3. Employees shall be respectful of the human rights of others and understand the stances of others.
  4. Employees shall always make a proper distinction between "public" and "private," and shall not utilize their duties or positions for private interests of their own.
