Nippon Paper Group Basic Policy on Prevention of Bribery to
Public Officials and Compliance with Competition Laws

The “Nippon Paper Group Basic Policy on Prevention of Bribery to Public Officials” and “Nippon Paper Group Basic Policy on Compliance with Competition Laws” were established on November 8, 2017.
Behind the scenes of international transactions, there has been an increased risk for many companies, including Japanese companies, being charged and having sanctions imposed on them by relevant local authorities with respect to the bribery to foreign government officials, the forming of cartels, and other unlawful conducts. Seen in this light, these two basic policies were established with a view to preventing legal noncompliance throughout the entire Nippon Paper Group including its overseas locations. With the establishment of these two policies, we shall take the initiative in enhancing our risk management for the Group as a whole.
